9th EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL
From 15 to 26 MARCH 2019 in GENEVA
This year, the Groove’N’Move festival is looking forward to seeing you from 15 to 26 March for 12 days of artistic eff ervescence that will transform Geneva and its municipalities into the epicentre of urban dance.
With this 9th edition, the festival is reaffirming its commitment to highlighting the values, energy and power of these dances, which can be enjoyed by everyone in their own way. Come and (re)discover the world of break, house influences, hip hop rhythms and popping moves. During our festival, you’ll not only be a spectator, but also a participant in workshops and discussions.
The Groove’N’Move adventure is also a desire to open up spaces of expression for Geneva’s creative talent. Our festival aims to facilitate encounters, both between artists on a local, national and international scale, and between artists and audiences. Among this audience, it’s the families that we wanted to honor this year. A made-to-measure itinerary has been devised as a red thread running through the program.
Finally, Groove’N’Move is a series of encounters that crystallize and move around the towns and partner structures, so that the artistic experience can take place at the theater, in a museum, in a dance studio, or in your local community hall.

STAGES KIDS ET BATTLE JUNIOR
SATURDAY, MARCH 16, 2019 ECOLE DE CRESSY, CONFIGNON SWITZERLAND
The festival wanted to honor the many families, children and teenagers who attend every year, by organizing a day dedicated to them, in partnership with the communes of Bernex and Confignon.
Two workshops are on offer in the morning for children aged 8 to 12, and a breakdance battle will take place in the afternoon for 10 – 17 year-olds. Youngsters will be able to express themselves in front of judges and renowned DJs.

A not-to-be-missed event at the festival, the Groove’N’Move Battle returns this year with its two flagship categories: Hip hop and Popping. Every year, the battle brings together local, national and international dancers to generate an afternoon of artistic effervescence. This event is aimed at both curious urban dance fans and professional dancers. Indeed, the battle is above all a time dedicated to dance, a festive time that opens up spaces for participation and conviviality.
