Passionate about artistic creation, Lakriola is a choreographer, dancer and dance teacher. Inspired by her mother, a dancer, and by her brothers and sisters, she developed a deep connection with dance from a very early age.
She began her career in hip-hop before spending several years in Cape Verde, her country of origin. It was there that she discovered Afro dance, which, over the years, would become her main artistic identity. At just 11 years old, she had her first experience of teaching when she stood in for a dance teacher for several months. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to choreograph for artists, whilst also taking part in several stage productions as a dancer. In particular, she has had the opportunity to perform alongside artists such as Djodje, Meitabelle, Gadalomba & Sté, as well as sharing the stage with Naza, Theodort, Genezio, Warren Saada, Abou Tall, Tayron Kwidanz, Slimka, Neyna and Mc Acondize, thereby enriching her experience as a professional dancer.
Driven by a desire to develop the Afro scene in Switzerland and Cape Verde, she is also the founder of Badiafro, an events concept that combines dance and live music. Through this project, she hopes to create moments of genuine connection, where artists and the audience come together, united by a shared energy.
She also spent a year teaching Afrofusion and Amapiano to adults at the Lar & Lev dance school, where she supported students in their technical development whilst instilling in them a love of dance, self-confidence and artistic expression. Today, her ambition is to continue sharing her passion through teaching, choreography and stage performances, whilst helping to promote Afro cultures through movement and music.
