Kaneki Ace aka Jamie
BEGINNER HIP-HOP
HIP-HOP ALL LEVELS
Jamie Kallon, better known as Jamie or Kaneki Ace in the artistic world, is a professional dancer originally from the US. Growing up in the United States, he was immersed in hip-hop culture and music at an early age. A lover of dance, he was inspired by clips from Michael Jackson, Omarion and other artists. He moved to Switzerland in 2001, at the age of 6.
In September 2013, he took part in his first self-taught dance battle. Despite a good level, he quickly realised that he lacked certain skills. So that same year, he decided to train at Urban Team in Hip-Hop and House dance with international dancer Perla Perlson (Wanted Posse). Motivated by goals such as gaining access to the most renowned freestyle stages, Jamie set himself an intensive training programme, which he followed rigorously.
In just 2 years, he won around twenty competitions in Switzerland. In 2016, he managed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the “Juste Debout World Finals” in Paris Bercy in front of over 14,000 spectators. The same year at the Flavourama in Vienna, he qualified among the top 8 teams, and the following year he qualified for the Fusion Concept World Finals. These three major hip-hop events were among his goals.
In the years that followed, he went on to win around thirty events across Europe. Kaneki Ace also won international titles such as the “Red Bull BC One Camp” held in Zurich in 2018, the “Battlefield” held in Hamburg in 2019 and the “Red Bull Dance Your Style Geneva” the same year.
In 2014, shortly after starting his training, Jamie joined the Geneva dance group Viz-O. And in 2016, with other artists, he created a quartet of European dancers called “Street Madness”.
Since 2017, Jamie has also been organising a European freestyle battle called “Break The Limit”. Now in its 5th year, this annual event is one of the best dance events in Switzerland, thanks in particular to its large number of guests and performances.
The experience he has gained over the course of his career enabled him to start teaching dance at Urban Team in 2016. Today, alongside this, he also teaches in several dance schools in Geneva, creates choreography for several local artists and continues to develop his personal projects, which he regularly posts on his Instagram page @jamie_kanekiace.
